Optimism is NOT Arrogance

Arrogance is the belief that you are BETTER than others. Optimism is the belief that you have the same CHANCE as others. We all have the chance to achieve our dreams. Don't ever let anyone tell you differently.

I'm BAAAAAACK!

Yes, with the new year starting, two published books under my belt (see link beside for more info) and the drive to start the sequel to Under A Broken Sun, I've added blogging to my daily (or weekly as time allows) routines.  Of course, I must focus on writing first, but I wanted to carry on the spirit of Abounding Optimism and continue to send thoughts of encouragement to writers everywhere as they struggle with the notion of ever being published.

Yes, I am self-published, which always seems to come with a negative connotation, as if "you weren't good enough to be REALLY published".  And maybe in some people's eyes I wasn't.  But then again...

...you can either live your whole life waiting to find out and missing opportunities that others control for you, or you can take control yourself, get your work out there, and get it into the hands of the people who REALLY matter - your readers.

So, look for more blogs on self-publishing, both the philosophical aspect as well as the technical, which options may be best for you, and what it means to be in charge of your own destiny.  (Note:  it is NOT all unicorn farts and sunshine...more to come)
